Fun Expo

This year was the first year that I had attended Fun Expo in Las Vegas, NV. While I have set up, organized shows, and attended them, I had not yet been a vendor. I'm not sure which responsibility I have enjoyed more.
We were hoping to have a new backdrop to start the show. I didn't have it ready early enough. So we started the show out with our older backdrop. Because of my inexperience, I was not sure what to expect from the show. We set up the booth at first, probably in the worst way possible. We had our equipment at the back of the booth and didn't have enough space to fit everyone who wanted to get a feel of the equipment.

Part of the way through the show, our new backdrop arrived. Because of this change, I wanted to arrange the equipment so that it didn't block the new backdrop and was easily accessible to anyone interested. We then moved the tables and had our equipment out along the isle. We couldn't believe what a difference it made! Maybe it is old hat to some, but it was an educational accident for me. People were flowing through our booth so much easier! We had so much more traffic to our booth after that. We are hoping that we are approchable for all no matter where the equipment is placed, but this was too easy. I think being able to walk by our booth and being able to touch or shoot the equipment is something that some people just can't resist. Some people would walk by and be obviosly trying not to look at the equpment. You could see them slow down before they entirely cleared the booth.

Some people would do a u-turn in the aisle and come back just to shoot at our mannequin. We had some younger boys stop by the booth and play a short game before Mom and Dad said it was time to go. We also had a young woman stop by three times to, "try it one more time." Some people who are all in favor of paintball were starting to slow down and take a look at the more realistic-looking guns that we have. Whether someone is into running around in the woods and shooting his buddies, or a family may just want to wear down the kids at a family gathering, it seemed like everyone was having fun. We are hoping for business connections from Fun Expo of course, but I think it was more fun than work for me.
